Overview
The learning outcomes of the Certified Nursing Assistant Program include skills, knowledge and clinical practice competencies related to: health promotion, elementary first aid care, infection control, personal hygiene, communication with clients and family members, support planning and implementing change (self-care and rehabilitation) in nursing homes.
Career Opportunities
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists the nurse in providing direct, active basic care to all patients needing attention. The CNA is also required to provide support to the physician and other health care providers in a variety of clinical areas, including diagnosing and treating illness, applying first aid and CPR, preparing for diagnostic test procedures, administering medication as instructed by physicians and other health care professionals
